Our Commitment We provide a high-quality Careers Education, Information, Advice & Guidance (CEIAG) programme that supports all pupils to make informed choices and prepare for life beyond school.
Staff Role Every member of staff contributes to careers education. Staff can support by:
• Making links between subjects and real-world careers. • Highlighting labour-market information (LMI) where relevant. • Encouraging pupils to attend careers events, guidance interviews and trips. • Recording careers-related activities you deliver. • Signposting pupils to further help when needed.
Statutory Requirements Gatsby Benchmarks
Our careers programme is built around the 8 Gatsby Benchmarks including:
• A stable careers programme. • Encounters with employers and providers. • Curriculum learning linked to careers. • Experiences of workplaces. • Encounters with further and higher education. • Personal guidance.
What Counts as an Encounter?
• Assemblies or talks delivered by FE, sixth form, technical or apprenticeship providers. • Workshops or small-group sessions. • Career fairs where approved providers are present. • Visits or virtual sessions explaining technical pathways.
How Staff Can Help • Support with provider visits. • Plan subject-based careers learning (BM4). • Join or run work-related learning trips/sessions. • Encourage pupils to use careers resources and guidance services.
