Sensory Provision

We work closely with our medical and specialist therapy colleagues to ensure the sensory needs of our young people are addressed in School.

In Spring 2015, we have seen an amazing transformation which will significantly improve our sensory provision.  A dingy photocopying room has been refurbished into a bespoke, state of the art sensory, light and I-Muse room.

Its soft lilac hue gives it a relaxing ambiance offering a range of functions:

  • Fibre-optic lights
  • Touch stimulating velvet wall, with calming star light display
  • Fixed bubble wall - interactive and colour changing
  • Light display to produce soothing ripple effects
  • Short-throw projector - themed pictures and sounds
  • Interactive resources which can change lights and display, such as throw dices
  • UV lights - multi-functional use
  • I-Muse (Interactive Multi-Sensory Environment)

We will be developing the use of this fantastic resource over the coming months.

The purchase of much of this equipment was made possible thanks to a generous donation to the Home School Association.
