Key Stage 4

We currently have two key stage 4 classes comprising of pupils from years 10 and 11. They are engaged in differentiated programmes of study carefully tailored to meet individual needs..

When planning the secondary curriculum we endeavour to prepare pupils for life after school, particularly focusing on developing vocational skills if appropriate and independence skills. As well as covering the complete range of subjects within the National Curriculum, pupils also have the opportunity to experience Work Related Learning, which is undertaken at local places, such as the Ryedale Folk Museum.

There is no external examination for KS4 pupils as our pupils fall below the expected national standard. Pupils undertake accredited courses which will result in them being awarded certificates marking their progress in English and Maths at Entry Level, AQA.

All post-16 students will have the opportunity to move into the Welburn Hall College Unit.
